Session 1
This module is designed to help the student focus on exam strategies, short essay answers, and case study presentation. Material covered includes the essay question: what is a well written essay answer, organizing your essay, practice essay questions and sample answers. There is no quiz for this module.
Session 2
This module covers many common legal terms or concepts that the credit manager should be familiar with. Topics covered include Contract Law Basics, Negotiable Instruments, Secured Transactions – UCC Article 9, Agency Relationships, Entity Formation and Implications for Credit Extension, Security Devices, Bankruptcy, Antitrust, Libel and Slander, Legislation. This module also includes sample essay questions and answers related to legal terms and concepts. There is no quiz for this module.
Session 3
This module covers the case component of the CCE Exam. Topics covered include steps to use when doing a practice case, the 6 C’s of Credit, SWOT Analysis, Trade and Background Information, Financial Information, Liquidity, Activity, Leverage, Profitability, Security and Guarantees. This module also includes test taking tips. There is no quiz for this module.
Speaker Bios:
Georgette Bevan, CCE is the Director of Education with NACM Business Credit Services in Salt Lake City , Utah . Georgette considers herself a product of the NACM Education and Professional Designation programs, and a Business Credit Education Groupie. After achieving the Certified Credit Executive designation, she continued on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. Georgette has 20 years of active duty in credit management in the chemical (plastics) industry. Georgette has been earnestly engaged in coaching, mentoring and leading NACM Professional Designation review classes for the members of NACM Business Credit Services in Salt Lake City since receiving her CCE designation. She believes that "it takes a village" or affiliation of mentors to raise a CCE.
Scott Lee, Esq., CPA, CCE is the Vice President of NACM Business Credit Services in Salt Lake City , Utah . Scott is licensed to practice law in California and Utah and practiced for 20 years prior to joining NACM. Scott also has an MBA and is a CPA. Scott is a prior presenter at NACM Western Regional Conference. He has taught college accounting and business law courses. Prior to law school he functioned as the controller for a large leasing company.
Susan Lujan, CCE is the Corporate Credit Director of Kenworth Sales Company. She started as a credit clerk and grew up in the credit profession while obtaining her degree and her professional designations. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree – cum laude, in Business Management and Marketing, and is an instructor at Salt Lake Community College in Economics and Finance. Her credit passions are mentoring and stopping credit card fraud in her industry. She is a successful and popular speaker at her affiliate, and has been a presenter at the Western Regional Conference and at National Credit Congress. Susan has been associated with NACM Business Credit Services since 1989.
Debie Wangsgard, CCE, has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Westminster College and has been working in the field of credit for over 32 years , first working in the construction industry, and then as the Corporate Credit Manager for Swire Coca Cola, and most recently for Stock Building Supply in the Credit Training Department. She was recognized as Instructor of the year in 2008 by NACM Business Credit Services. She has given numerous seminars, online webinars, and developed over 40 training programs to strengthen credit managers in their profession and has taught CAP classes for Salt Lake Community College .
Val Venable, CCE has been the America ’s Credit Manager for SABIC Innovative Plastics, formerly GE Plastics, since 2000 with responsibilities for credit, collections and risk management in five countries. She manages a portfolio consisting of over 50,000 accounts with customers in just about every industry including automotive, consumer products, chemicals, net media and the industrial and construction arenas. With over 25 years experience as a credit manager, Ms Venable has worked in the Aerospace, Steel and Metals and Marine industries, both domestic and international. She has lead education sessions at the NACM Credit Congress and the Metals and Steel, and the Food Services Industry Day Groups and has addressed various CFDD Affiliates.
